When the goal is creating a whole new world, we can see that the capacity of imagination is integral to societal transformation.  It is not some vestigal appendage to be cast away at adulthood-but a faculty that must be deeply developed in order to envision new ways to think, feel and be.   As they say, you can’t be the leader of a Marxist revolution without having a poetic nature, or at least a poetic side.  

Efforts to document the real necessarily involve capturing the sublime.
